Week 27

This week I had my glucose sugar test to make sure my blood sugar levels were normal and I was not suffering from gestational diabetes. I was told to not eat any sugar the morning of, so I was very careful to not eat anything but scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. I drank the orange sugar water (which wasn't as bad as I anticipated; it just tasted like flat orange soda) and had to wait an hour to get the results. During my wait, I got to hear Kylee's heartbeat on the doppler, which was 153 bpm and then saw the Doctor. Everything still looks good and I now get to visit the Doctor every two weeks. After my hour wait was up, I had my blood taken and waited for my results. What results did I get? I FAILED!! The normal levels should be between 60 and 120 and my blood sugar level was a 56. So I failed from the opposite problem of most women! I was told that I would have to come back on Friday to take the 3 hour glucose test! AHHH!! The whole time I am thinking"If I just ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast, I would've been fine!!!" I went back to work after my appointment and later that afternoon received a call from the doctor's office. Apparently, there was a miscommunication between the Doctor and nurse about my blood sugar levels. The Doctor felt like it was close enough to the norm, that I wouldn't need to come back!! YAHHH!! I am so relieved that I don't have to miss 3 hours of work on Friday to drink more sugar water!!!

Other exciting things this week is that Kylee's kick is getting stronger and stronger every day! If I lay on my side at night, Chris and I can feel her body parts moving against my stomach!! We can not identify the body parts yet, so we are not sure if the movements are actually her head, butt, feet, arms, or elbows! It is comforting to know she is so active, even if it does keep me up at night sometimes!

I have not really had any major cravings lately and have not been too emotional this week! I am still getting leg cramps, charlie horses and hip pains but the Chiropractor is helping some. I can't complain too much, I think I have been blessed with the easiest pregnancy ever. Let's hope that the last trimester and delivery go just as smooth!!

We are in the process of trying to schedule a 4D ultrasound so we can get some recent pictures of Kylee. Hopefully we will have some new pictures to post in the near future!

Week 25 and 26

Wow, where did time go? I am in the end of the second trimester already!!?!! These past two weeks have just been the same old, same old! I am getting myself back in the routine of waking up early for work and being gone all day. It's been a little harder getting up and going to work, but overall I have not been too tired and things continue to go well. I am not really having "cravings" anymore, other than just wanting either something sweet or salty. The worst thing I can complain about is that I keep waking up to horrible "Charlie Horses" in my calves! The instant pain is excruciating and takes a few minutes to go away. After it does, I still have a slight ache that takes a couple days to go away completely. I hear it only gets worse as the pregnancy continues, so I guess I better get myself prepared!!!

As we prepare Kylee's room for her big arrival, we decided it would be fun to do some home-made art work, instead of buying wall art. Chris and I spent the whole weekend making a beautiful three piece picture that matches her bedding and has her initials on them. We are quite proud of our hard work! I will post pictures after we get the pictures hung up.

That is about all that has been going on these past two weeks with my pregnancy. I have my glucose test on Monday, so I will let you know how that goes! After that appointment, I will begin going to the Doctor's every two weeks.....That's a true sign that I am getting closer to the end!!!
